Clemson Gameday Look: Ladies Clinic Chic

Get the Look:

Who says you can't dress up a t-shirt?? :)

Who is going to Dabo Swinney's Ladies Clinic this Saturday? Me, me, me!

We will be missing out on the weight room entertainment this year to instead work alongside our friends at Tickled Orange to help sell our Clemson Girl "You might be a Clemson Girl if..." t-shirts that YOU helped us design. :) We are so excited to be a part of such a good cause this year -- using the shirts to help raise money for Dabo's All In Team Foundation.

If you haven't gotten your must-have Clemson Girl shirt yet (the best Clemson t-shirt this year...right?), you can still purchase them online through Tiger Town Graphics website. If you're attending the Ladies Clinic on Saturday, stop by the Tickled Orange table during the shopping time slot, come find ClemsonGirl.com and purchase one for yourself! Get your shirt autographed by the players and coaches!

Also make sure you stop by and visit so we can take a picture of you to feature in a Ladies Clinic album on the blog next week -- especially if you will be wearing your own t-shirt design! Last year you all were so creative!

And please take LOTS and LOTS of photos this year and email them to us so we can add them to our Ladies Clinic album next week.

We are so excited - last year the Ladies Clinic was so much fun. It's always great to see the Clemson female fans come out and support Clemson athletics, Dabo and such a great cause.

See you there! :)

P.S. If you're going to the Ladies Clinic Saturday, do a good deed in the morning and bring the Tiger mascot water... I did this last year and he was SO grateful. It's hot as heck and can you imagine wearing that outfit for almost two hours, posing for pictures and signing autographs? Oh..and don't forget the straw! :)

"You might be a Clemson Girl if..." Contest

We are thrilled and very, very excited to announce a brand new Clemson Girl contest in partnership with one of our fave sponsors, Tickled Orange.

All we need you to do is finish the sentence "You might be a Clemson Girl if..." We will pick the best 10 responses, and together with Tiger Town Graphics, put them on a very cute Clemson Girl "You might be a Clemson Girl if..." t-shirt that will be sold, starting in May, online and in the Tickled Orange store in Clemson.

The best part about this contest is that all of the proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be donated to Dabo's All In Team Foundation at Dabo's Ladies Clinic, July 23rd, which raises money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The funds are used to promote early cancer screening, detection and continued research.

The individuals who submit the winning top 10 responses will get the Clemson Girl t-shirt for free in the size of their choice, a few other surprise goodies and recognition on ClemsonGirl.com... not to mention being part of an effort to raise money for a very worth cause! Winners will be notified the end of April and the t-shirt design with the top 10 responses will be revealed and available to buy the beginning of May!

Deadline for "You might be a Clemson Girl if..." entries is Midnight EST, Friday, April 15th. Get creative, make it humorous, keep it clean.. but remember to keep it short and to the point - after all, it has to fit on a t-shirt! :)

Fill out the form below and click the 'submit' button to submit your entry. Scroll below the form to read the full contest rules. We can't wait to see your entries! Help us spread the word about this contest - share it on Facebook!

CONTEST IS OVER. THANKS FOR ENTERING!

  • If we receive the same response or similar responses from multiple entrants, the entry received first will be considered over the other(s).
  • By filling out the form above and submitting your entry, you agree that Clemson Girl LLC, Tiger Town Graphics and Tickled Orange can use your response {without credit on the shirt or in sales materials} on a t-shirt that will be sold to raise funds for Dabo's All In Team Foundation. New Year's Resolutions Week - #5

Get more involved in my community and help good causes...

Read this great article from MyLifetime.com on ten super easy ways you can volunteer your time and give back to your community.

You can also support a great cause that's very important to Dabo Swinney and his wife Kathleen... plan on attending this year's Dabo's All In Foundation Ladies Clinic. The cost is only $60 and $15 of that goes straight to cancer research. And on top of that, Dabo and Kathleen match every $15!

The $60 gets you a spot at the day-long Ladies Clinic held in and around the stadium plus a free lunch. We had a blast last year, and I highly recommend you go! This year's clinic will be held Saturday, July 23rd.

Who wouldn't want to be serenaded by cute football players? :)

Another worthy cause you should consider is donating your money (or time) to Clemson's Tiger Band. Their scholarships are limited, and the ones they can give are funded by alumni and other generous patrons. Tiger Band members donate A LOT of their time to participating in the band while juggling classes, etc. Could you imagine a football game without Tiger Band??

You can donate directly to Tiger Band through an organization called CUTBA, or you can shop for some neat Tiger Band 'stuff' that helps support their cause.

I highly recommend purchasing the Tiger Band music CD - it's a great gift idea and it's always fun to have Tiger Rag handy to play whenever you need it... like when your gamecock friends are near. :)

What are some ways you give back to your community? Are you volunteering your time for a good cause? Post a comment and share your story.

2010 Dabo Swinny Ladies Clinic

My friends and I arrived to Littlejohn yesterday at around 8 a.m. - not really sure what to expect from Dabo Swinney's ladies clinic, but excited about the day. We were given our name tags and goody bags - which included a Dabo 'All In' poker chip, a koozie and two.. not one...but two t-shirts! A pink one and an orange one. Sweet!

While we waited for the day to start, we were able to walk around and get all of the coaches to sign our tiger rags - which I had my very own tiger rag from www.clemsontigerrags.com. It said 'Clemson Girl's Tiger Rag' monogrammed on the top! We also got the Tiger's signature and watched Dabo take photos with all of the other participants. The line for Dabo was super long - kudos to you ladies who waited in it.

The ladies clinic officially kicked off at 9 a.m. and was packed full of fun events. From shopping to Q & A with the coaches wives to learning about football and recruiting...to quite the show in the weight room from some of the more confident players. Lol...

My favorite part of the day - which it's hard to think of one favorite part - was the CU Idol session. A few of the Clemson football players came out and performed songs live in front of all of us. I loved the Justin Bieber "Baby" rendition with the surprise vocal from Tajh Boyd.

The day ended with a group picture on the hill and the traditional running down the hill by all the participants.

I really enjoyed meeting a bunch of other female Clemson fanatics, and I loved all of your different t-shirt designs! I also met and spoke with Dabo's wife Kathleen who is the most genuine and sweetest lady. The entire day she was interacting with all of the women, while also being a mother - one of her boys spilled some coke in the gym and she didn't even hesitate to get down and start wiping up the mess...while wearing white pants.

The clinic far exceeded my expectations - my friends and I agreed we will DEFINITELY be back for next year's clinic. If you've been on the fence about going, I highly recommend you go. Get a group of girlfriends together and sign up - it's so much fun and it's for a worthy cause.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was when Dabo asked all the ladies who have survived breast cancer, who have the breast cancer gene in their family, or are currently battling breast cancer to come stand down in front as him and his wife presented the check for the money raised by the clinic.

I walked away from the day a little tired and a little sweaty...but more proud than ever to be an alumni of such a great university with an athletic program that cares about more than just football.

The entire day I noticed a theme from the program - it's about family and relationships - whether it's recruiting new players or the weekly family dinner the coaches and their families have together as a group. We also found out that when Dabo became coach, he let the coaches' wives and families come to away games with them for the first time. There were photos above each coach's office of that coach with his family. I love that. And the coaches' wives and kids were present and participating throughout the entire event. I think I even witnessed one of Dabo's sons convince a clinic participant to bet higher on one of the silent auction items. "Come on...it's tax deductible..I don't know what that means, but it's good." :)

Only disappointment for us was the lack of interaction with the football players (minus the weight room of course). I need more football player autographs on my Tiger Rag - including Kyle Parker's who was notably absent Saturday. Guess I need to go to Fan Appreciation Day on Aug. 22nd.

Check out all the photos we captured...

Most of the photos were taken with the group I was in, Group F...but we need other groups' photos! We would like to add your photos to this album as well - please email them to us so we can share them with everyone.

Were you at the clinic yesterday? Comment on this post and share your favorite moments of the day.

Ladies Clinic Chic

I'm loving the little Clemson bag that attaches to your belt loop - perfect for holding your Clemson Tiger Rag, license, keys, cash, some folded checks, a marker or pen, small thing of sunscreen and lip gloss. The Croc flip flops will keep your feet comfortable and breezy, and these fantastic khaki capris look super comfortable and light.

This look is Clemson spirited, cute, and functional for tomorrow's ladies clinic festivities.

Ladies Clinic is this Weekend

So who is going to Dabo Swinney's Ladies Clinic this weekend? I am, I am!

This Saturday, July 24th, is Dabo's 2nd annual Ladies Clinic. Check-in starts at 7:00am in Littlejohn Coliseum, and the clinic officially begins at 9:00am.

The day will include:
  • Sessions in the West End Zone facility including the Tiger weight room, locker room, team meeting room and Death Valley.
  • A Q&A session with the Clemson coach's wives.
  • Meet and Greet Photo w/ Coach Swinney.
  • Shopping with Clemson Tiger vendors (including many of our lovely sponsors, yay!).
  • Lunch provided by Chick-fil-A. (Yumm!!)
  • Silent and Live Auction items.
  • Meet and Greet w/ Clemson Legends
The clinic will end at 4:00pm.

I'm not positive, but you may still be able to register if you haven't already - you can register at www.daboswinneyfootballcamp.com or call (864) 656-1910 for more information. The registration fee is only $60, and $15 of it goes towards breast cancer research and prevention matched by Dabo's All-In Team Foundation. Last year they raised over $32,000!

Check out our photos from last year's clinic.

What to wear? I haven't decided yet - but dress for warm temperatures. The high on Saturday is going to be about 94 degrees! View the complete weekend's weather for Clemson.

I'm definitely excited about trying out this clinic for the first time. Have you been before? Any tips for us first timers? What to wear? What to bring? etc. Comment on this blog with your past ladies clinic experiences and any advice for the newbies.

See everyone this weekend! Go Tigers!! Go Dabo!

Dabo Swinney's Clemson Ladies Clinic Photos

Did you attend the July 25, 2009 Ladies Clinic in Clemson? The clinic this year set an attendance record and raised over $30,600. A fellow Clemson Girl, Ashley McCabe, was kind enough to share her pictures with us from the clinic so those of us not in attendance can see what we missed out on. If you attended and have pictures you'd like to add to our gallery to share with all the Clemson Girls, please email them to us at clemsongirlblog@gmail.com.

You can also view the pictures on our Flickr page by clicking here. Enjoy!
