To wear white or not to wear white on gameday

I love white dresses - especially in the summer time when I'm rocking a great tan. But would I wear white to a Clemson gameday? I am not so sure.

I've seen a lot of really cute, white gameday dresses. I love how simple the white is and how you can dress it up with orange or purple accessories. Some Clemson Girls can really pull off this look, and a white dress is so classy.

My concerns with wearing white on gameday include...
  • My back side getting dirty... there's no telling where my bum might end up on gameday, the stands themselves are not pristine, let alone dirty tailgate chairs, sidewalks, grass, etc., etc., etc.
  • The whole debate about wearing white after Labor Day - technically the first game is before Labor Day (by two days), so I guess you're in the clear for the first game...but what about another September game?
  • What if we have weather like last year's football season? Soaking wet white dress...I don't need to go into detail...you get the idea.
  • Will a white dress add 10 pounds on me? We can all agree that white isn't the most flattering of colors.
But... I love the look - like the one below. You know I'm crazy about the one shoulder dresses - and I love how the orange is in your accessories. It's like the white dress gives you a blank canvas to decorate.

So.... would you wear a white dress to a Clemson gameday? Have you before? Comment on this blog post and share your thoughts, experiences, etc. OR email us photos of your white dress gameday outfit to share with the rest of the Clemson Girls....

Clemson Ladies Dining

This is probably one of my favorite photos from this past football season, taken at the Clemson vs. UVA game back in November... these ladies were so friendly and were so excited when I approached them to take their picture. I think we took three or four shots until they felt the picture was just right. :)

Check out the setup...crystal wine glasses, an adorable table cloth, a candelabra, real plates, real silverware... now that's classy tailgating! Love it!

What's unique about your Clemson tailgate?

My Wednesday Orange & Purple Loves

Lots of great orange and purple finds out there today... I am so in LOVE with the Lulus.com orange dress below - so much so that I've actually bought it! Check out that back - can I pull it off? I hope it's the right color orange! It would be so cute paired with brown knee high boots and a purple cardigan for one of the games in October!

And hello...a cute purple and white dress for only $10.00 from GoJane.com!

Check out the orange AND purple winter coat from ModCloth.com - you'll rarely (if ever) find a coat with both of Clemson's colors in it! Worth the extra dollars...

Comment on this post and let me know what you like the best out of these options - or post a link to your own orange and purple Wednesday finds.... Happy Wednesday!

Quick Poll: Would you wear this purple dress to a Clemson football game?

It's never too early to get your gameday outfits for the Fall...Clemson Girls who buy their gameday outfits early tend to have more original outfits come football season...aka you won't see your 'twin' in the same outfit on gameday.

And of course the Clemson Spring Game is even closer - April 10th. It might be warm enough for this dress...there's no telling.

So...what do you think of this dress!?!?

Gaines Adams (1983 - 2010)

Gaines Adams, former Clemson defensive end turned NFL pro, passed away today at the age of 26. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends as the Clemson family mourns today.

"I just couldn't believe it was Gaines," [Tommy] Bowden said. "I will always remember the smile he had on his face and I will always remember his patience."

For all you readers who know how to sew, please make a gameday dress using this fabric.... you have about seven months... ready, set, go!

Click on the image above to visit the Web site where you can buy the fabric!

UPDATE: Looks like the fabric above is on backorder..worth the wait though. I would call the company and see for how long. Until then, there are other great fabrics out there that would work just as well! Any of these would make great gameday outfits!

I'm dreaming of a white Clemson...

Looks like Clemson students and locals will be gettting a nice blanket of snow tonight...

I used to love snow days in Clemson - no class and watching crazy kids sled down Bowman on lunch trays stolen from the dining halls. Although there's always that ONE professor who doesn't cancel class...

Here are some photos from across the Internet of a snowy Clemson in days past... I wish I was there!

Brrr! Time to pull out the Clemson Snuggie!

Yes, we all laugh at the Snuggie commercials and make fun - saying who would really buy one of those things. It's just a backwards robe afterall. "Why are these silly things so popular?" we ask ourselves.

Well... as the temperatures keep dropping this week, a Snuggie is actually sounding like a pretty good idea.

Taken at Clemson vs. Wake Forest game, outside of stadium.

I think it may be time to invest in a Clemson Snuggie. A lot of people have asked where you can buy a Clemson Snuggie. If you live in Clemson or the surrounding areas, your best bet is pretty much any Clemson store downtown... as well as Bi-Lo, Walgreens, Kohls, Belks, and Hibbets Sports.

However, if you don't live locally in Clemson, your best bet is to get a Clemson Snuggie online.

The cheapest Clemson Snuggie (like the one pictured earlier in this post) is from the official collegiate Snuggie Web site. They are about $19.95 plus $7.95 in shipping. And the more you buy, the cheaper they are per Snuggie. So you might as well stock up for your entire family. :)

The Clemson Bookstore also sells them online - but they are a little pricier at $24.98 a piece. However, I'm not sure what the shipping is - it might be cheaper.

I also found another design that I like better for the Clemson Snuggie - this one you can buy on Amazon.com for about $22.46.

So Clemson Girls... time to fess up...

Do you own a Snuggie? A Clemson Snuggie?

Post a comment on the blog - where did you buy it? have you worn it in public? Any good Snuggie stories to share?
