Wedding Wednesdays: Part I - Flower Power

I love, love, love orange flowers - and not simply because I have a bias towards orange (Go Clemson!) but also because orange flowers are bright, festive, and would work for a wedding year round - no matter which season your wedding is in.

From the bridal bouquet to the entire wedding party - I love solid orange bouquets, orange with a pop of another color, other colors with a pop of orange, or an all out explosion of color.

Orange is such a great accent color and I love how bright it looks against the bride's white dress.

And while we're mixing oranges with other lovely colors - why not purple? It seems an obvious choice, right? :)

Or go a less traditional route and try the latest trend of non-flower flowers - like this crafty felt bouquet.

Finally...don't forget your groom and his groomsmen - loving the orange tie matched with the oh-so-pretty...er...ahem...handsome orange flowers.

Do you like orange flowers in weddings? What did your wedding bouquet look like?

Wedding Wednesdays: Part I - Orange Bridesmaids

So you've decided to incorporate your alma mater (Clemson) into your wedding colors? I may be biased, but I think purple and orange go great together and would make for beautiful wedding colors for a spring or summer wedding. But you can always use one of the colors and pair it with a nice compliment color.

While it may be easy to convince your lovely bridesmaids to adorn purple dresses, you might have a harder time getting them excited about orange bridesmaid dresses. No doubt this is what they are envisioning when you mention orange to them...

Yikes! However, orange can actually be a really flattering color if it's the right tone and the right style... Check out the inspirations below I found. How beautiful are the brides' crisp white wedding dresses paired with the vibrant oranges? And check out the first one (my fave!) where the orange adorned bridesmaids are carrying gorgeous purple bouquets?

There are so many really pretty bridesmaid styles that come in shades of orange...here are a few of my favorites I found online.

And if you're going all out for Clemson at your wedding and your colors are purple and orange - how about these gorgeous bridesmaid dresses that pair the two together!

And lately I'm really into the print trend for bridesmaid dresses - Anthropologie is a great option for print bridesmaid dresses that are affordable considering what most typical bridesmaid dresses cost these days. I love this orange, multi-colored patterned dress - a little more casual, so perfect for a beach wedding!

What do you think of using orange for your bridesmaids? What color would you pair with orange for a wedding? Would you (or did you) use orange and purple as your wedding colors?

Stay tuned to the blog today for Part II of Wedding Wednesdays - we're going to share some reader submitted photos and stories of real weddings! Did you incorporate Clemson in your wedding?
