The Game Day Divas always have a big selection of Clemson gameday jewelry. I’ve always had the hardest time finding orange jewelry (the right color orange) – but now, the Game Day Divas make it easy to find the perfect jewelry to compliment your orange and purple gameday apparel. Orange pearls!!! Definitely on my wish list!

Or if you’re feeling a little wild, check out these Tiger inspired jewelry – love these!

And I’m so excited that the Game Day Divas have started selling hair accessories! You probably know from some of the gameday looks we put together that we are big fans of headbands and hair accessories. This purple jeweled headband would be so cute for a Clemson gameday.

And although I’m tired of all the rain this week, I’m glad it’s bringing cooler temperatures with it – it’s going to start finally feeling like Fall. Game Day Divas is a step ahead with a new shipment of some fabulous pashminas – they are great compliments to any gameday outfit. And even if your outerwear is not purple or orange, you can still sport your orange and purple by wearing a pashmina as a scarf.

Don’t forget that the Game Day Divas will be at two locations in Clemson this weekend: Friar’s Tavern parking lot and downtown in front of Tiger Town Tavern. Clemson Girl readers can print out the coupon below and get 20% off of their purchase when they shop at one of the two Game Day Divas booths in Clemson on Saturday.

Get these blake & brady gameday looks before they’re gone…

I am so ready for Homecoming this weekend and another home Clemson game – and a big game at that. The game is already officially sold out. I’m looking forward to the more mild weather and tailgating before and after the noon game.

I’m even more excited about this weekend after seeing blake & brady boutique’s latest photo shoot showcasing their newest Clemson gameday looks for Fall.

The weather forecast for Clemson on Saturday for a high of 75 and a low of 54 – perfect football weather. These looks would be perfect with a cardigan or jean jacket when it’s cool in the morning and great without the outerwear for sitting in the sun during the game.

You can visit blake & brady in their Anderson store on your way into town this weekend OR you can follow them on Facebook and contact them directly about ordering any of their items – they can ship anywhere with a flat shipping rate of only $7 or free shipping for orders over $100.

I love this photo – the purple top with the chunky orange necklace is so cute. You can get your complete gameday outfit at blake & brady – tops, jeans, boots, jewelry – they have it all!

Blake & brady has also started a new service called ‘Fast Track’ – when you sign up for this program, you get an email notification the instant a new item arrives to their boutique, even before their Facebook followers find out. You need to sign up for this ladies!

Just the other day, blake & brady posted the ‘perfect Clemson dress’ on their Facebook page and I contacted them as soon as I saw it and said “I NEED this dress!”, but it was already sold out – it went so fast. One of the great things about blake & brady is that they order their looks in small quantities so when you purchase from them, you won’t see the same outfit all around town. So trust me, signing up for this service will keep you in the loop so you can be one of the first to see the newest looks and hopefully snag it before it sells out!

All you have to do to sign up for the ‘Fast Track’ program is visit blake & brady on Facebook, click on the ‘Fast Track’ tab on the top, and fill out the form to sign up. It’s super easy – I’ve already signed up! :)

And blake & brady let us know that they are getting a brand new shipment of Clemson colored apparel this Thursday, just in time for some Homecoming shopping . If you see a look you love, call blake & brady and pick up your purchase on the way into town this weekend. Who knows…. another ‘perfect Clemson dress’ might come in Thursday and be just what you’re looking for to wear to Saturday’s game.

And every purchase gets a free koozie in the color of your choice! They are super cute with the quote, “Girls could never play football because none of us would be caught dead on the big day wearing the same outfit!" on them. Love that! :)

So what are you waiting for? Don’t miss out on these amazing Clemson looks – get on over to blake & brady on Facebook, sign up for Fast Trak and start SHOPPING!

Homecoming: Be a Clemson Girl photog for a day

Do you own a digital camera? Do you like to take pictures? Are you going to the Clemson homecoming game this weekend?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you might be just what Clemson Girl is looking for!
Last year, we asked for volunteer photographers to help us out with the Clemson Homecoming game - we had a professional photographer and two lovely readers take gameday photos for the blog. The photos were beyond amazing.

So it should be no surprise that we want some amazing Homecoming photos again! :) We are looking for three volunteers to help us take gameday photos this Saturday, October 2nd when Clemson plays Miami in Clemson.

All you will have to do is take at least 75 digital photos on gameday - at least 15 photos have to be gameday outfits and the rest can be random (tailgates, Homecoming floats on Bowman, inside the game, scenery around Clemson, fans, etc.). Visit our past gameday photos to see the types of photos we're looking for.

In return for your gameday photos, you will receive a beautiful, hand-stamped, sterling silver Clemson necklace, handmade by local jewelry artist Melissa Simmons-Cox. Be sure to check out her Facebook page, Sparrow & Company, where you will find unique, quality, handcrafted accessories inspired by the seasons and nature.

If you are a professional photographer
and you would like to volunteer to take gameday photos for Clemson Girl, in return you have the option of getting free promotion of your business and Web site on our blog, Facebook page and on Twitter (instead of the necklace). In addition, you can place your watermark (as long as it's unobtrusive to the photo) on every photo you take and we credit you and your Web site on every one of your photos in the gameday album. This is a great opportunity to get the word out about your business and showcase your talent.

If you're interested in volunteering to be a Clemson Girl photog for a day this Saturday, email us at clemsongirlblog@gmail.com - include your full name, where you usually tailgate on gamedays and why you'd like to be selected. Deadline for emails is 9 p.m. EST this Wednesday, September 29th.

We will contact the volunteers we select, no later than midnight on Wednesday, September 29th, with all of the details, etc.

Remember, you don't have to be a professional photographer to volunteer...you just have to own a digital camera and love taking pictures. We can't wait to hear from you!

Clemson Girl gets a new gameday wardrobe...

I started this blog in July of 2009. The idea came to me when I realized how much time I spent looking for cute Clemson dresses, girly Clemson gifts, and a place to share my love of Clemson with other female fans like myself.

I was disappointed that most independent Clemson fan sites and blogs were focused solely on Clemson sports and usually (not always) targeted towards more of a male audience. Don't get me wrong, I love TigerNet as much as the next person - but I would never post about cute gameday outfits, etc. on their forum for fear of the backlash from the hardcore male members who probably wouldn't appreciate posts like that clogging up the boards. :)

Hence Clemson Girl was born.

After more than a year, this blog has continued to grow in leaps and bounds much to our delight - and we find ourselves getting closer and closer to our goal of building the ultimate community of Clemson female fans: a place where we can talk about Clemson sports AND cute Clemson outfits, a place where you can share your photos and your opinions without fear of ridicule, and a place where you can easily find everything and anything Clemson and girlish.

We have so many ideas for the future of this site and our brand, and we're hoping to grow our team this year (maybe with you!).

So before I go on... let me just say THANK YOU to all of you who continue to read the blog and support us and our amazing sponsors day in and day out.

....................................

As Clemson Girl grows, we continue to get more notoriety among Clemson fans - so it's no surprise that the powers that be at Clemson University have heard of us too and have visited and monitored our site.

Like any institution, Clemson University is dedicated to protecting and maintaining their brand. University symbols, such as the Tiger Paw, are registered marks - hence that little circular 'R' you always see next to the Tiger Paw. Clemson University, like most large universities in the US, pays a company called the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) to protect the University's images (like the paw) and manage and maintain companies who can use the licensed paw.

To obtain a license with the CLC you have to spend A LOT of money as well as go through a major, lengthy and difficult (did I mention expensive?) process just to apply. It also requires more money and lengthy processes on a monthly basis even after getting approved for a license to use a university's image.

So with the growing success of Clemson Girl, it's no surprise that we recently received a letter from the CLC on behalf of Clemson University. Their major concern was the use of the (badly drawn by me in Photoshop) white paw we were using on our Clemson Girl image - even though they recognized the paw wasn't the licensed Clemson paw, they felt that due to the nature of the content on this blog, they're concerned that you, the readers, will get confused and think we were affiliated with Clemson Univ. and think that Clemson Univ. was condoning what we write and what we promote.

Fair enough. And despite our existing disclaimers all over our sites (which I'm sure you've memorized, right?), Clemson Univ. felt it was best to just remove the paw from Clemson Girl.

And of course we respect Clemson University's concerns. After all...we started this blog because we love Clemson so much in the first place.

....................................

We think that this couldn't have happened at a better time - we're actually happy about it... yup, happy! :)

Because who wears the same gameday dress for an entire year and a half? How are we supposed to promote fashionable Clemson gameday apparel if our own logo is wearing an outfit that is so last year?!?

So Clemson Girl is donating her old (and probably worn and way faded from so many washes) Clemson paw dress to Goodwill and is starting an entirely new wardrobe.

Without further ado, check out Clemson Girl's newest look... what do you think?

You'll be seeing this new outfit on her on all of our sites - but we don't want her to wear the same old thing again for another year. So we've decided to get YOU involved in creating Clemson Girl's new looks.

Visit the blog tomorrow for another post on a new ongoing contest that let's you be the gameday dress designer and if we feature your design on our logo, you can win big prizes!

Hooray for a new chapter and great new look for Clemson Girl!
