Get ready for football season with Stadium Chic – Win a free Clemson shirt!

Still trying to figure out what to wear to the first Clemson football game? No worries… Stadium Chic has got you covered with a line of contemporary Clemson game day apparel – all made in the USA.

Stadium Chic was started by a brother and sister team: Ariana, a University of Southern California alum, and Alex, a Texas Christian alum. Their mission is to bring trendier collegiate apparel inspired by runway trends to universities across America at affordable prices.

Ariana got the idea for Stadium Chic while attending college. Her and her friends could never find anything cute enough to wear to the football games so they started to design their own game day outfits. Soon after in 2009, Stadium Chic was born with the goal to sell trendier collegiate apparel inspired by the latest trends to universities across America at affordable prices.

Stadium Chic started out selling University of Southern California apparel, but has grown over the past year and now sells apparel to over 15 universities including Clemson, TCU, OK State, New York University, Rice and the University of Oregon.

You can find Stadium Chic’s Clemson items at Mr. Knickerbocker in Clemson. Coming soon, you’ll also be able to buy their amazing Clemson apparel online from the Stadium Chic Web site. So stay tuned!

I love their dresses… especially the combined orange and purple one. Any of these would be perfect for the warm September games.

And their T-shirts look super cute and super comfortable.

You can keep up with Stadium Chic and their newest looks on Facebook and on Twitter.

Do you live in Clemson and are looking for a part-time job? Stadium Chic would love to talk to you. They are looking for some sales reps to help get the word out about their products in the Clemson area – if you’re interested, contact Ariana.

Stadium Chic Giveaway – How would you like to win one of these orange Clemson shirts? Stadium Chic is giving away not one…but two of these t-shirts to two very lucky readers. Winner gets to pick between the orange v-neck t-shirt or the orange tank. Either of these would be so cute paired with jeans and cute Clemson jewelry.

To enter, simply comment on this post with your first name, last name initial, where you’re from and then tell us how you would style this shirt or tank in a gameday look – with jeans? A skirt? What would you wear this with on gameday?

Bonus entries: Follow Stadium Chic on Facebook and you’ll get an extra entry. Follow Stadium Chic on Twitter and you’ll get another entry! Just make sure to mention it in your comment to get your extra entries… we'll be checking, so no cheating! :)

Deadline for entries is Noon on Friday, August 27th.
We will randomly draw two winners and announce the names on the blog Friday afternoon.

Good luck!!

Gameday Look: Dress up your shoes

Lately I've noticed a lot of fashion retailers selling shoe clips - have you heard of them? They are decorative items like flowers, bows, rhinestones, etc. that you can easily clip onto a pair of shoes - giving it some extra flair or interest.

I recently stumbled across these "posie-cure shoe clips" from ModCloth.com. How cute are these?
An orange set would look great, one on each shoe, clipped onto a pair of canvas flats paired with your gameday dress.

Or try this example courtesy of ModCloth - pairing orange AND purple clips on the same shoe.

You can even clip them to the sides of your shoes...

What do you think? Would you wear shoe clips with your gameday outfit?

Gameday Look: Hair Scarves

Check out this great video tutorial that shows you how to create a new look for your hair using a standard fabric scarf.

This would look so cute for a gameday outfit and totally functional - keeping your hair off your neck and catching sweat on the hairline. And for the cooler games, pull the scarf down over your ears to keep them warm.

If the scarf is too big (too much fabric) and if you don't plan to use it in another way, cut it in half to make it work better for your hair - and gift the other half to a friend.

Check out some scarves across the Web that would be perfect for this look...

I think this look is so fun - what do you think? Would you try this look for a Clemson gameday?

Gear up for Football Season at the Welcome Back Festival

Clemson's biggest Welcome Back Festival ever is this Monday, August 16th in downtown Clemson. The festival will be from 5:30pm to 8pm and will have over 85 vendors and organizations - who will be giving away food samples and prizes! Admission to the festival is free to everyone!

If you live in the upstate or are a student, I highly recommend it. I wish I could go!

A lot of our lovely sponsors will be there, including the Game Day Divas who will be set up right in front of Tiger Town Tavern. They have great apparel, jewelry, handbags, gifts...all in orange and purple!

I got an orange handbag from them last year and used it for pretty much every football game - it's so hard to find orange purses and bags, but the Game Day Divas have so many, it's hard to choose just one.

If you're like me and you can't make it to the festival, don't worry - you can still shop all of the Game Day Divas goodies online.

Are you making it to the festival this year? If so, make sure you stop by the Game Day Divas set up and say Clemson Girl sent you!

Tailgate Recipe: Thirsty Thursday - Orange Cocktail Recipe

Football season is almost upon us, which means tailgating is also almost upon us. The first two home games are at 3:30 PM and the weather is sure to be toasty (please no rain!). So why not sit in the shade of your tailgate and sip a refreshing cold cocktail prior (or after) the game?

This orange margarita recipe looks so delish! Make the orange puree and syrup prior to leaving for the game and store them along with your ingredients in your cooler.

Blood Orange Margarita Recipe

*Makes one cocktail

1 lime wedge
Coarse sea salt for rim
Ice
2 ounces of tequila, preferably Sauza Hornitos
1-1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce orange liqueur
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce blood orange puree (see below)
1 lime wheel
1 blood orange wheel optional
  • Moisten the outside edges of a rocks glass with a lime wedge.
  • Sprinkle a little salt on a small plate and dip the moistened rim in the salt to coat it lightly.
  • Fill the glass and a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup and blood orange puree and shake vigorously.
  • Strain into the glass, garnish with lime and blood orange wheels.
Blood Orange Puree

*Makes 3/4 cup

4 blood oranges, peeled, segmented and seeded
2 tablespoon simple syrup
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • In a blender or food processor, combine orange segments, simple syrup and lemon juice. Puree until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust amounts of simple syrup and lemon juice as needed.
Simple Syrup

*Makes 1-1/2 cups

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Pour into a glass jar and cover, refrigerating until needed.

Stock up on gameday looks with blake & brady boutique...tax free!

Tax free weekend in South Carolina is definitely an incentive to get off the couch this weekend and do a little shopping - but 20% off of the gorgeous clothes and jewelry at blake & brady boutique, plus 50 to 90% off of clearance items (yes, 90%!), is reason enough to treat yourself to some retail therapy this weekend.

Now is the time to find your perfect gameday outfit for the first game, and blake & brady boutique in Anderson has an amazing selection of purple and orange. And everything they have is unique - so you'll stand out in the crowd...like this dress for instance, it's so unexpected, but I love it.

You can take advantage of this sale by visiting blake & brady in store at their Anderson location Friday, August 6 (10am - 7pm) and Saturday, August 7 (10am - 5pm).

Don't live in the upstate? No worries! You can shop blake & brady's looks via their Web site or their Facebook page - and order by phone (864-965-9120). They can ship anywhere with a flat shipping rate and offer free shipping for orders over $100!

I'm in love with this dress - it's so different (in a good way!) and I think it would look lovely paired with the orange necklace - perfect for gameday!

But I also like how versatile the necklace is - because you could wear a plain white t-shirt and the necklace totally dresses it up.

And if you're a gameday dress girl like me, blake & brady have you covered...I'm really digging the orange sleeveless dress with the zipper and ruffle detail. It looks really comfortable, which is key for gameday outfit selection.

But if you're more of a shorts or jeans gameday girl, no worries, you will still look amazing by pairing them with one of these lovely tops!

Or...be daring...and a little sexy on gameday, ooh la la. :)

Don't miss out on blake & brady's amazing sale (plus no taxes) this weekend. September 4th is only a matter of weeks away ladies - time to find that perfect gameday outfit! What are you waiting for?
