Clemson Tiger Rags - Get your very own, customized Tiger Rag!

Every Clemson fan should own a Tiger Rag. Clemson Tiger Rags, http://www.clemsontigerrags.com/, creates hand embroidered Tiger Rags that can be customized to your liking. When I received one in the mail this week for the Naming Caroline’s Blog Posts contest giveaway, I was so impressed! The Tiger Rags are so unique (I haven’t seen anything like it before), so I wanted to share with you more information about what they look like, how to sport them at games, and ways to customize them to make it your own. Who needs a cheap pom-pom when you can wave your Clemson orange Tiger Rag in the air?

Clemson Tiger Rags, also known as McHenry Stitchery, is a locally owned Clemson business. It is owned and run by 1992 Clemson Management alum Angie McHenry. She started the business in 2002 with a small home embroidery machine, working part time out of her basement. She has since moved up to a much larger home embroidery machine and sells baby blankets, monograms and hats in addition to the Tiger Rags. She has a Crafter's License from Clemson University, so everything is official and University approved.

The Standard Rag (15" square) starts at only $20, with $5 for each additional customized stitching (prowling Tiger, pennant, name, sorority, graduation year, etc). They are made of pretty thick fabric and are guaranteed to make it through all types of weather at all Clemson sporting events. Here are some example photos of different Tiger Rags made by Clemson Tiger Rags (click the images to see a larger version):

Standard 15” Square Tiger Rag

Deluxe Tiger Rag – Make your Tiger Rag your own and add a little more detail with custom graphics including the Clemson prowling tiger symbol or a Clemson pennant.

Customized Tiger Rags - Show your sorority pride and get your letters stitched on your Tiger Rag. These would make great Big Sis, Lil Sis, or pledge gifts. Tiger Rags also make great graduation gifts. Customize with their name and their graduation date, or frame the Tiger Rag so the graduate can display their Tiger Rag in their home, office, etc. year round.

"My First" Tiger Rags - Tiger Rags also make great baby gifts for future Clemson fans – You can order smaller 10” square “My First” Tiger Rags for only $15. For an additional $5, get the little tiger fan’s name on the Tiger Rag and his or her birth date. How cute! Instead of carrying around a blanket, they’ll be carrying around a Clemson Tiger Rag. What a great tradition to start with your family. Have the “My First” Tiger Rag framed for an adorable addition to the little one’s nursery.

Show your pride on gamedays and wear your Tiger Rag. Try one of these options pictured below. Each Tiger Rag comes with a small slit in the top left corner and a cute little button. This lets you loop them and button them on your belt loops, purse straps, etc. Or you can wear your Tiger Rag on your wrist just like the Clemson cheerleaders. Your little Clemson Girls will love this – especially on the Clemson Cheerleader for a Day clinic.

Visit http://www.clemsontigerrags.com/ to learn more about the products, about the business, and to place an order. Clemson Tiger Rags also provides monogramming for towels, bags, and other items – your one stop shop for Clemson personalized gifts!

Would you like to win your very own standard Clemson Tiger Rag for FREE? Angie loves Clemson and is a big fan of this blog, so she has given me two extra Tiger Rags to give away to two very lucky readers. Post a comment to this blog, or email us at clemsongirlblog@gmail.com, and tell us another way you would use a Clemson Tiger Rag besides the ways mentioned in this blog - another clever way to wear it, display it, use it, etc. I will let Angie pick two winners for the best ideas for how to use a Tiger Rag. Make sure you include your name and email address so I can contact you if you win. Contest Deadline: Sunday, August 16th at midnight.

Definitely have your last name monogramed on it and incorporate it into a tailgate centerpiece - under your flower arrangement or bowl perhaps. Then when you are packing up for gametime, you can take it into the game with you!

I have two little ones, so all of my ideas naturally include the kids...

1) tie it to your belt and tell have your little one to hold on to it as you walk to the stadium to keep them close to your side

2) use it as a nursing cover for those of us with breastfed babies who couldn't stand to leave the game for even a few minutes

3) drape it over your little one's head if the sun is too bright

I always wear a ponytail to games...so this would be great tied around a ponytail! Also would be cute if you had 2 of them to tie up the sleeves of a tshirt. Would also make a great decorative pocket "hankie" on a suit!

Sew several together (perhaps one for each person in your family) to make a banner that adorns your tailgating tent!

One other idea was to cut(small cuts along all four edges of the rag) and tie two rags together on all the sides with a litte stuffing in the middle for a cute pillow!!
