Tailgate Recipe - OREO Football Cookie Balls

You will be a hero at your next tailgate if you make these sweet, delicious footballs (and they are so easy to make!).

OREO Football Cookie Balls

Ingredients:
6oz. (3/4 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1pkg. (15.25 oz.) OREO Chocolate Creme Cookies, finely crushed
2pkg. (8 squares each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
1Tbsp. white decorating icing

Directions - Mix the cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well blended. Next, shape into 40 (1-inch) football shapes. Freeze for 10 min. Dip footballs in melted chocolate and place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan. Use white icing to draw laces on footballs. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Add some fun and serve on a thin sheet cake covered in green sprinkles with white sugar yard lines.

EXTRA TIPS:
How to Melt Chocolate: Place unwrapped chocolate squares in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2-1/2 min. or until chocolate is completely melted, stirring every 30 sec.

How to Easily Dip Cookie Balls: To easily coat cookie balls with the melted chocolate, add balls, in batches, to bowl of melted chocolate. Use 2 forks to roll balls in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove balls with forks, letting excess chocolate drip back into bowl. Place balls in prepared pan; let stand until chocolate coating is firm.

How to Store: Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Tailgate Recipe - Pumpkin Pie Dip

I keep catching myself forgetting that our game this week is on Thursday night. Having a Clemson football game on a Thursday night in the middle of the season is fun -- it makes the week so much easier to bear. Instead of waiting anxiously for Saturday, I only have to wait until Thursday!

How I will feel on Friday may be a different story. :)

Typically for Thursday night games, all of our friends gather at someone's house to watch the game together on tv. All of us bring snacks for everyone to munch on during the game.

Since Fall is {finally} in the air and Halloween is right around the corner, I really like the idea of this Pupmkin Pie inspired dip - something different from your typical salsa and vege dips. And it sounds delicious! I can't wait to try it.

Pumpkin Pie Dip

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup frozen whipped cream, thawed
Gingersnap cookies, apples, or cinnamon graham cracker sticks

Directions:
  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Add in pumpkin, sour cream, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and ginger. Mix well.
  • Fold in the thawed whipped cream.
  • Serve with green apples, graham cracker sticks, or gingersnaps.
  • Store in refrigerator.
