Happy Thanksgiving (+ a DIY Clemson shirt idea)

ClemsonGirl.com wishes you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I created the design above using the software that came with my Silhouette cutting machine, cut it into orange flocked heat transfer vinyl, then applied it to a cheap purple shirt from Target. 'Flocked' vinyl has a felt-like velvety texture to it. It took all of 30 minutes tops to make and was a fun, unique shirt to wear to Thanksgiving festivities (especially around our Gamecocks family and friends).

Here is a basic image file of the design. If you have an electronic cutting machine like the Silhouette or Cricut, open this image in the design software and use the tracing feature to turn it into a 'cut' file.

Click on this image. Right-click and select
'save as' to save the image to your computer.

If you don't have an electronic cutting machine, you can still insert this image in a Microsoft Word file (or something similar), fill it in with orange color, print onto heat transfer paper using an inkjet printer, then iron it on a shirt.

For both options above, check the instructions for the vinyl or paper you use. Some types require you to flip the image horizontally so it's backwards before you iron it on a shirt.

Other options for crafting with this design...

• Vinyl stickers to stick on mugs, wine glasses, dishes.
• Print it out, cut out the design, and use as a stencil with fabric paint on a shirt
• Print out, grab some orange and purple crayons, and keep the kids busy coloring while you 'virtual shop' tomorrow

Welcome Palmer Renee to the Clemson family!

Back in June of 2014, we shared Clemson Girl Deidra's beautiful Clemson wedding. In the post we introduced you to Deidra and her husband Kevin, and shared the story of their love for one another and their love for all things Clemson.

Well, their family recently reached out to us and let us know that Kevin and Deidra have brought a beautiful baby girl, Palmer Renee, into the world on October 28, weighing in at 9.2 lbs. It looks like Palmer is already a Clemson Girl and loves her Tigers!

And it looks like her family has already provided her with a complete Clemson wardrobe. This little Clemson Girl will be decked out in orange and purple for the rest of football season!

Welcome sweet baby Palmer to the Clemson family! With seven cousins as Clemson alums and two others enrolled now, we have no doubts Palmer will be a Clemson University graduate herself. Thank you to Deidra's and Kevin's sweet family for sharing with us and all of you.
