Wedding Wednesday - Amanda and Henry Clemson Wedding

Happy Wednesday Clemson Girls!

Get ready for a beautiful Wedding Wednesday post. It's rare that we get to share the engagement session AND wedding of one of our readers, but today is one of those days!

Amanda has been a long-time reader and supporter of Clemson Girl. Last November when she reached out to us to share her Clemson engagement photos, we were psyched and posted an impromptu 'Wedding Wednesday'. And now we are even more excited that just over six months later we get to share her GORGEOUS wedding photos.

Say hello again to Clemson alums (and huge Clemson fans), Amanda and Henry.

Amanda graduated from Clemson in 2008 with a degree in Psychology, and Henry graduated in 2009 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Henry and Amanda met during their sophomore year at Clemson.

The Proposal

In November of 2013, Henry and Amanda boarded the Carnival Imagination for a 4-night Western Caribbean Cruise to Key West and Cozumel. The weekend before, Henry had secretly met with Amanda's father in Atlanta to explain his wish to marry his daughter and ask for his blessing.

On the second night of the cruise, it was announced that evening dress code was Cruise Elegant Dining attire. After finishing dinner, Henry rushed Amanda to the location where karaoke was on the cruise.

Henry walked up to the emcee to request his song, but would not tell Amanda what song he had chosen. He got up on stage, dedicated his song to Amanda, and then began to serenade her with the song "Everything". He knew this was her favorite Michael Bublé song and he wanted it to be their song. When the instrumental break began after the second chorus, Henry walked off the stage to where Amanda was sitting.

"What are you doing?" Amanda hissed. "The song isn't over."

Henry got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. With all the attention on her, she was speechless and remained frozen in her seat. All she could do was smile. A man from the audience yelled, "Say yes!". Amanda nodded, said "Yes", and Henry put the diamond ring on her finger.

The couple got married in Greensboro, Georgia in April. When asked why they chose a Spring wedding, Amanda says, "Because the Fall is for Football. Spring is for weddings!"

The wedding colors were blue, orange, and purple. Of course since Amanda and Henry are Clemson alums and big Clemson fans, they had to include Clemson colors. However, Amanda also wanted to incorporate her favorite color - blue. With the help of their wedding planner, Ashley Baber, and florist, Kent Duffey, they were able to find the perfect shade of each color to complement their spring wedding.

As you can see from the photos, Amanda had Clemson spirit everywhere in her wedding -- including a surprise visit from the Clemson Tiger!

Amanda and Henry said their wedding felt like one big party where they knew everyone. If you have a few minutes, you must watch their wedding video... you can tell this couple is so in love and are very loved by their friends and family. Yes, we did tear up a little watching it. And Amanda's dress is one of the most beautiful we've seen.

Amanda's wedding photographer was J. Ashley Photography, and her videographer was Kevin Hursch Films, LLC.

Thanks so much to Clemson Girl Amanda for sharing her photos and her story with us today! We wish this couple the very best as they start their future together as husband and wife! XOXO

Wedding Wednesday - Mary and Steve Clemson Wedding

There are brides who include Clemson in their weddings here an there - maybe their garter, the groom's cake, or Clemson favors.

Then there are brides who cannot hide their Tiger pride and devotion. These brides have true Clemson weddings, and Clemson is incorporated in everything. While we love all Clemson Girl weddings, these true Clemson weddings are some of our favorites. Even if a Clemson Girl bride-to-be doesn't plan on having an 'all things orange and purple' wedding, she can be inspired by the brides who do have these types of weddings.

When Clemson Girl Mary sent us photos of her recent Clemson wedding (June 6 - congrats Mary!), we were so excited to share these photos with our readers. There are so many fun Clemson touches in her wedding that any bride-to-be can use for ideas when planning their wedding. And the fact that Mary has a sweet love story to go along with her photos is just icing on the {wedding} cake. :)

Mary and her new husband Steve were both raised in the Upstate in die-hard Tiger loving families. They both come from a long family line of lifelong IPTAY members, and the two are lifelong IPTAY members as well.

Even though they both grew up in the Upstate and share a love of Clemson, Mary and Steve met by fate on the dating website Plenty of Fish.

Mary and Steve took a trip to Myrtle Beach together soon after they first met. A little over a year later, the couple was visiting Myrtle Beach again with some friends. Steve felt this was the perfect spot for a proposal since that was the location of their first trip together. Steve took Mary down to the beach, got down on one knee, and proposed. Mary said 'yes!' of course.

Clemson has played a major role in the blossoming love between Mary and Steve. The two are not only die hard Clemson fans, but they attend Clemson football games together and have even worked some of the Clemson football games together. Nothing brings two people closer like Clemson football!

As you can see from the photos, Mary's wedding was all things orange, purple, white...and Clemson. Everything had a Clemson touch - the wedding party clothes, the cake, orange punch, decorations... right down to Mary's pedicure!

We really like the 'unity' sand art in orange, purple, and white. What a neat idea for incorporating Clemson colors, and something you will have forever and can put on display.

Thanks so much to Mary for sharing her love story and her great Clemson wedding photos with us for today's Wedding Wednesday post!
