Meet the new Clemson Girl Sports Blogger: Nikki Steele

Happy [day after] Labor Day Clemson Girls!

My name is Nikki Steele and I am going to be your new sports blogger. I will be keeping you in the know on everything Clemson sports.

I graduated from Clemson in 2008 with a Sociology degree and went on to get my Master’s in Criminology from the school that shall remain nameless. I currently work full time in the Office of Admissions at Clemson. To get my sports fix, I help the guys at Tigernet.com with the pictures, video, stories. I also cover high school football for The Greenville News.

I have ALWAYS been a Clemson fan. When people ask me when I became a Clemson Tiger, I usually respond, “before birth.” Until the week before I was born, my mom hiked to the top row of the south stands for every Clemson home game. I like to think that I was the reason they beat Wake Forest the day I was born. I attended games throughout my childhood and haven’t missed a home game since I started college in 2004.

Sports - especially Clemson sports - are a huge part of my life. There aren’t many days that you won’t find me watching a football, basketball, or baseball game. There is nothing quite like being on the field as Tajh Boyd tries to make a miraculous comeback against South Florida in Charlotte and I will never forget seeing Tajh Boyd come off the field after the bowl game and saying that never again will Clemson football have a season like 2010. There is no greater feeling in the world than being in Death Valley with 85,000 of your closest friends and cheering the Tigers on to a victory.

Right now, it is all football all the time in Clemson, so I will be doing game recaps and giving my predictions on upcoming games. If you have any suggestions or anything that you would like to see in a blog feel free to let me know!

Go Tigers!
